WRAY architects is the trading name for the architect Peter Wray. It is not a limited company and has no links to any other organisation.

Peter Wray is registered with the RIBA and ARB and adheres to the code of conduct of both of these organisations. Both organisations have a complaint and disciplinary process which Peter Wray is subject to.

WRAY architects carries out the traditional role of an architect offering services for designing buildings, drawing plans, assisting clients to comply with building related regulations, surveying and offering advice related to buildings and the building process.

WRAY architects collect personal data in the following ways:


When you provide your contact details to us when requesting information about architectural services or when entering into a contract for the delivery of those services.

Via openly available public sources (e.g. LinkedIn or company websites).

The personal data we routinely collect includes:

  • Company name

  • Contact details


We do not collect any special categories of personal data, as defined under the GDPR. Our products and services are not aimed at children.

How we use your personal data

We may use your personal data for the following purposes:


  1. To fulfil a query, request for services

  2. To deliver architectural services under a contract

  3. To maintain records of prospective, current and past clients and our suppliers

Your rights regarding your personal data


You have a number of rights under data protection law, which have been strengthened under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):


  1. Access: You have the right to access the personal data we may hold about you and the purposes for which we are using it. We may ask for proof of your identity. On receipt of such a request we will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible, at most within one calendar month.


  2. Rectification: You have the right to request that we amend any personal data which is incorrect or requires updating.


  3. Erasure: You have the right to request that we delete any personal information pertaining to you. We will assess any deletion request on a case by case basis and will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible, at most within one calendar month.

Where we store your personal data


We store and process your personal data at WRAY architects office


WRAY architects takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and we take appropriate steps to ensure your personal data is stored in a secure environment to prevent any unauthorised access.


WRAY architects may use external data storage services to backup data. When we do so we have appropriate agreements in place to protect the data. Any data transfers between external service providers and ourselves are conducted by secure means.


Sharing of your personal data


Your personal information will be shared with organisations necessary for the delivery of architectural services (for example, with the local authority when obtaining planning permission or with a contractor when tendering)


WRAY architects will not share your personal data with any marketing organisations


Your data may be shared where this is directly necessary for WRAY architects business. (E.g. details of past projects as requested by professional liability insurers)

How long we store your personal data for


We will only retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes we are using it for.

How long we retain data will vary depending on the purposes it is used for.

Documents relating to a completed building project will be returned to you at the end of the liability period (typically 6 or 12 years from the completion of a building contract) and all personal data will be deleted unless your express permission is obtained to retain the data or if there is a reasonable likelihood of you continuing to use WRAY architects services.
